Carriger Creek Restoration Projects

There will be two different restoration projects completed on Carriger Creek. The first one, almost complete, is a fish passage enhancement project. It involved removing a concrete ford and replacing it with a series of step pools. The concrete ford had created a fish barrier and small steelhead could not pass. Below are photos of the project site before and after the removal of the barrier and stream modification.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The second project is a bank stabilization project. On a lower part of Carriger Creek near Arnold Drive, the stream is eroding the bank and threatening the county road. This project is still in the planning phase. Below are some pictures of the site.
